Income Protection Insurance

If you suddenly lost your main source of income, would you be able to pay your expenses? Many Kiwis have inadequate long-term savings. Some have none at all. Income Protection cover can help make sure that you have the money you need if you no longer have income.

Income Protection insurance will cover up to 75% of your normal income if you are the sole earner in the household. However, if you are unable to work due to an accident that is covered by the ACC, the costs is offset. With ACC payments, you’ll receive 20% of your income in the form of Income Protection cover, while the remainder comes from ACC. On the other hand, if you are unable to work due to illness, you will get the full amount that you have applied for.

If you don’t currently have Income Protection insurance or are looking to change coverage, talk to us and we’ll let you know if it’s something we think you should consider.
